First: I Kings 12:1-13 - Elijah asks a widow to make him a meal, and promises that God will provide food for her
Psalm: 145 - My soul give praise to the Lord / It is the Lord who keeps faith forever ... gives sight to the blind ... upholds the widow and orphan
Second: Hebrews 10:11-14, 18 - Christ has made his appearance once and for all - to take the faults of many on himself
Gospel: Mark 12:24-32 - The widow's mite: a poor woman contributed her whole livelihood to the treasury, even though it was a small amount compared to others.
