THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER - YEAR A

Readings
First: Acts 2:14, 22-23 - Peter addressed the crowd at Pentecost, comparing Jesus with the patriarch David: God raised this man Jesus to life and caused him to receive the Holy Spirit, whereas we have David's tomb with us.
Psalm: 15 - Show us, Lord, the path of life / Preserve me God I take refuge in you / I will bless the Lord who gives me council / And so my heart rejoices my soul is glad / You will show me the path of life.
Second: I Peter 1:17-21 - Through Christ you now have faith in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory for that very reason.
Gospel: John 24: 13-35 - Jesus appears to the disciples on the road to Emmaus - they recognized him at the breaking of bread.
