NINTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - YEAR A

Readings
First: Deuteronomy 11:18, 26-28, 32 - Moses sets before the people a blessing (if they obey the commandments) and a curse (if they don't) and exhorts them to keep and observe the laws and customs he has set out.
Psalm 30 - Be a rock of refuge for me O Lord / In you O Lord I take refuge / Let your face shine on your servant.
Second: Romans 3:21-25,28 - God's justice has been revealed outside the Law and Prophets, in Jesus Christ. Both Jew and Pagan are justified by faith, and not by doing something which the Law tells him to do.
Gospel: Matthew 7: 21-27 - The person who listens to these words of mine and does not act on them is like the stupid man who built his house on sand: rains came, floods rose, gales blew and the house fell. The person who hears God's word and obeys it will enter heaven.
