THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - YEAR A

Readings
First: Kings 4:8-11, 14-16: The prophet Elisha is given hospitality by a woman who recognizes that he is a holy man of God.
Psalm: 88 - I will sing forever of your love O Lord / Happy the people who acclaim such a king / For it is you O Lord who are the glory of their strength.
Second: Romans 6:3-4,8-11 - You too must consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive for God in Christ Jesus.
Gospel: Matt 10: 37-42 - Anyone who does not take his cross and follow my footsteps is not worthy of me .. anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.
Themes
Recognizing and welcoming Christ, and living in his way - recognizing his disciples / prophets. Offering hospitality.
