Readings
First: Wisdom 6:12-16 - Wisdom is bright ... readily seen by those who look for her. She looks for those who are worthy of her.
Psalm 62: 2-8 - for you my soul is thirsting, O God my God / O God, you are my God for you I long / So I gaze on you in the sanctuary / I will bless you in my life / On my bed I remember you.
Second: I Thessalonians 4:13-18 - We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus.
Gospel: Matthew 25: 1-13 - The parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids.
Themes
Being prepared for the end-times. Watching for the coming of the Lord, ready to respond to God's invitation. Christian life as a response to Christ's love - we await his coming with joy-filled hope.
