First: Jeremiah 1:4-5, 17-19 - Before I formed you ... I knew you. I have appointed you as a prophet. I am with you.
Psalm: Psalm 70 - My lips will tell of your help / In you O Lord I take refuge / Be a rock / You are my hope
Second: I Corinthians 12: 31 - 13:13 - Love is patient and kind ... faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.
Gospel: Luke 4: 21-30 - Jesus spoke in the synagogue - a prophet is never accepted in his own country.
