Eighteenth Sunday

EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - YEAR C

Readings

First: Ecclesiastes 1: 2; 2:21-23 - Vanity of vanities. A man who has laboured must leave what is his own to someone who has not toiled. What does he gain for his toil?

Psalm:  

89 - Lord you have been our refuge from one generation to the next / You turn men back into dust / You sweep men away like a dream / Make us know the shortness of our life / In the morning, fill us with your love.

OR

94 - O that today you would listen to his voice, harden not your hearts / Come ring out our joy to the Lord / Come in, let us kneel and bend low

Second: Colossians 3:1-5, 9-11 - Let your thoughts be on heavenly things - when Christ is revealed, you will be revealed in your glory with him.

Gospel: Luke 12 : 13-21 - Parable of the rich fool, who built extra barns to store his wealth, but died before he could use them.
